Event: Zenos Cars track day
Location: Snetterton Circuit, Norfolk, UK
Date: 26 September 2016
Zenos Cars is a British manufacturer of lightweight sports cars. A relative newcomer to the market, the company has been producing its tasty E10 track machine since early 2015.
The car is composed of a carbon-composite monocoque mounted over a central aluminium spine, with a Ford engine strapped to the back. Three states of tune are offered: 200bhp, 250bhp in the E10S and 350bhp in the E10R (which is the equivalent of 500bhp/tonne). The coloured, composite body panels are designed to be easily replaced to make the knocks picked up at a track day inexpensive to repair. The Zenos speed machines are all completely road legal; with a windscreen and snug driving position, they’re as fun on the way home as they are racing around the track.
The British car maker runs free track days at major circuits around the country to allow potential customers to get up and close with the brightly-coloured cars. As well as a blast on local A and B roads, customers are given instruction on track before heading out on their own for a set of hot laps. Technical and marketing staff are on hand to answer any questions, too. Forget a coffee in a dealership and a short test drive in traffic: this is the way to get to know a vehicle you might purchase.
We recognise something of a kindred spirit in Zenos Cars. We’re a relative newcomer, too, challenging far older, more established and larger organisations. We, too, are known for our colourful product and innovative approach to what we do. We’re people-first in our approach and our passion for photography shines through. And our clients also appreciate our reasonable pricing, which puts superstar, supercharged imagery within easy reach.
When we were invited by Zenos to pop along to their track event at Snetterton, we therefore jumped at the opportunity. Artistic director Shiv Gohil and automotive photography specialist Nat Twiss went along to shoot the Zenos E10S in its natural habitat. Enjoy this small selection from the day.
