Mahindra Racing retains Spacesuit
Spacesuit Media will continue as official photographic supplier to the Mahindra Racing Formula E team for the 2016-17 season, building on a two year relationship.
Mahindra Racing has retained Spacesuit Media as the team’s official photographer partner for the third season of the FIA Formula E racing series.
Mahindra Racing is one of 10 teams participating in the global, all-electric motorsport. Directly supported by parent company Mahindra & Mahindra, a $16billion manufacturing and technology giant, Mahindra Racing was one of the first teams to sign up to the groundbreaking new series. The team is one of nine constructor entries, building and racing with its own high performance electric drivetrain. In the third Formula E season, running from October 2016 to July 2017, the team will field experienced former F1 racer Nick Heidfeld alongside the highly-regarded Felix Rosenqvist.
Spacesuit Media is a UK-headquartered photographic agency with a reputation for powerful portraiture and captivating still and motion imagery. While the company was launched in April 2016, Spacesuit founders have been working together since March 2014. Formed initially to focus on Formula E, the team has covered every single race of that category since its inception, building up an impressive portfolio of artistic, technical and editorial photographs. We’ve supplied a wide range of clients, including Renault, Citroen DS, Virgin, Julius Baer, CNN, Andretti, TE Connectivity, IHG Group, Audi customer magazine and FIA Auto magazine among many others.
Mahindra Racing was the team’s first motorsport photographic client, with artistic director Shiv Gohil shooting for the red-and-white liveried squad for the first time in August 2014. We’ve been working together ever since, covering every single Formula E race as well as sponsor events, livery unveils and driver announcements.
“It has been a pleasure to have Spacesuit Media grow with Mahindra Racing in the FIA Formula E Championship,” says Dilbagh Gill, Mahindra Racing Team Principal. “Spacesuit’s team of very eager photographers have been with us every step of the way as our team has matured in the world’s first fully-electric championship. With their timely delivery and consistent, high-quality work, I’m glad that we are able to continue this relationship into season three.”
“We love working with Mahindra Racing,” says Shiv Gohil, artistic director at Spacesuit Media. “We feel like part of the family, having travelled the world for the past two years with the team. The team was our first ever motorsport client and we’re delighted to build on this relationship over the forthcoming season.”
Spacesuit Media will feature a familiar line-up in season three of Formula E, with Shiv Gohil, Dan Bathie and Nat Twiss heading to every round. They’ll be joined at selected races by Marta Rovatti Studihrad, who headed up our off-track coverage for Formula E organisers in season two.
Our shoot programme has set the benchmark for Formula E content, capturing garage activity and technical shots on Thursday; driver portraits, press conferences and shakedown on Friday; and, on Saturday, all track sessions along with podium celebrations and behind-the-scenes shots.
Spacesuit Media will continue to cover other fixtures across motorsport, automotive, sports and business sectors as well as supplying photography to other clients within the Formula E paddock.
